Community Involvement
The Law Offices of
Natalie Nelson firmly believes and supports community service and active
community involvement to enhance the overall economic and social conditions and
quality of life for all residents of the Territory of the Virgin
Islands.
Attorney Nelson is a member and past President of the St. Croix Business & Professional Women's
Organization (BPW). This non-profit organization, with headquarters in
Washington, D.C., has been in existence nationally since 1919, and in the
Virgin Islands since 1949. This is a very powerful and politically
respected organization that fights for human rights, civil rights, and women's
issues such as The Equal Pay Act and the elimination of gender bias
within the workplace, maximizing social security benefits for women and the
elderly, and universal medical care and benefits for the working class.
Attorney Nelson is a radio/TV personality and featured as a co-host on the "Week In Review" talk
show on WSTX, Radio
970 AM on Saturday mornings at 9:00-10:00 a.m. Attorney Nelson also appears as
a special co-host on "Straight Talk" which airs weekly on Channel
2, on Tuesday evenings at 7:00-8:00 p.m. On occasion, Attorney
Nelson also serves as host/producer on "Topics", a weekly TV
show on current issues which airs live on Channel 12 on Thursday evenings at
8:00-9:00 p.m.
Attorney Nelson has served as a volunteer advisor for students in public and
private schools interested in cultivating their oral and legal skills in the
Annual Virgin Islands Moot Court competitions. The Moot Court competition is
jointly sponsored by the Virgin Islands Bar Association and the Territorial
Court of the Virgin Islands.
